How To Fly
Look for it in the downloads section.
Has it really been two years since I've made a game?
This game conforms to my new game philosophy. There are no lives. There is no score. There are no enemies.
There aren't even any challenges or rewards.
If you hate videogames, you might really enjoy this. If you love games, heck, give this a shot anyway. Its only two minutes long, after all.
It started as I was sitting in my yard, killing mosquitoes left and right. I wondered: what was it like to be that mosquito, to live a life that a human would find unsatisfactory, to understand so little, and to die without warning,
without even comprehending death?
This game is the first game in which most of the design occurred during creating the game, as opposed to planning things out on graph paper like I usually do. Therefore, I'm not even sure what the game's about; I kept adding things that felt right until I created a substantial experience. The first interpretation that I got was that it was about life and death. As I added more to it, it appeared to be about living a life only by thinking, instead of doing. By the end, I though it was about alienation.
I'd love to hear what you think of the game! Email me at xanderdraco@gmail.com, or leave a comment on this page or the forum.
This is my first attempt with an avant-garde sort of game, however.
It might be a total failure; you might not get any sort of reaction from it. But hey, that'll happen with experimental games. If that's the case, please let me know.
