Yet another new game! Aliens Want Turtles
Games
Humans aren't the only lifeforms to like turtles. Command a starship and fight back against hordes of aliens coming to take your turtles in this clone of defender. It's fast paced, fun, good-looking and packed with content. Features online highscores so you can see how you do against the world. I spent quite a bit of time polishing this thing and adding features. It's going to be on display at my school's art show in a few days.

Download it here (Windows only)

New game released
GamesA new game is up for download. This time it's an action puzzle. The goal of the game is to guide balls to collect turtle shells and then guide them to fit into holes. The catch is that you can only control the balls via mirrors and other obstacles. There are 12 levels and plenty of different obstacles to mess with. Go to the download section and check it out!

Making Flash games...
NewsAlex, look into this: http://flashpunk.net/
I've been messing around with it today. It's not difficult at all. You should try it. According to Flash Game Dojo, how it organizes the game is a little like Game Maker. There's also a level editor made by the guy who made the Jumper games (go figure). I'm going to spend some time learning this thing.

I made a new game and it'll be uploaded soon.

Awesome Stuff
Games"20 Games that make you think about life."
There are some really great games on that list.
Air Pressure is absolutely amazing. Inquisitive Dave, Platform, Alter Ego, and Covetous are pretty fantastic too. I had played the old version of the Infinite Ocean and loved it, but strangely lost patience with the new one.

How to Fly- Updated
GamesI felt motivated to make some small improvements upon "How to Fly". In addition to fixing a graphical glitch, I made the game's mode of interactivity more apparent.

If you liked the atmosphere but didn't pick up on the game play mechanic, check out the downloads section.

Or, if you like glowing birds, check it out anyway.

Project development is really taking shape, but deadline is stretched
Upcoming Although we've been working hard and are pretty confident about the project, there's no way we're finishing the game at the end of the month. I originally intended this project to be a small game, but development is going great and it would be a shame to smash it into a tiny release. There is no official deadline, but it's reasonable to expect it sometime before the middle of November. The engine is very solid and we're going to put our heart and soul into the design part, so it will be well worth the wait.

The game is being designed using this as a loose guide:
"Less talk, more rock"
I'm currently taking a class in general design and a lot of what I'm learning can easily apply to game design. The goal of this project is to make the game fun not by following any "game theory" but by taking a human approach to creating an interesting world that you play in. It WILL follow traditional game mechanics and it WILL be a game with cleverly made goals, rewards, appropriate punishment, and interesting deviations from standard platform games, but it will not use them as a shallow way to sell the game. The thing with game design is that it takes everything into account: gameplay, graphics, sound, music, atmosphere, and story. If you neglect even just one of these then your game will always fall short.
